Copeland Track Fox Glacier !!

You know when your going on a 2 day 36 Km trek you got to eat a good breakfast!! Especially if you are not bringing meat along. haha.

7 Hour Hike to the Welcome Flat Hut!! 18 Km Yea I think so. You can see I was wearing jeans when I started. Not for long!!

So within the first 20 Minuets of this hike , everything that could go wrong, Went wrong.  I was trying to cross the first river 5 minuets into the hike and what do you know. I busted hard and fell in. I was soaking wet and my shoes and soaks were soaking wet. But I had nothing but these shorts to change into so. I drove on....
Then 45 minuets into the Hike . I busted hard on the wall, I had our dinner in a glass mason jar, beans and chickpeas. Well it broke and I was trying to clean it. Then I cut my hand. Jana said lets just go back its ok. But none the less we decided to drive on.
The views on the way on were so nice!!

Got to take a panorama of course!!
These two nice people were from Holland, mother and son, doing a hike up to the same place as us!!

I guess I have a way with making people smile, even if we are from different country's. Humor and happiness in interchangeable!!
Then my bag broke!! Of Course. So I had to use my belt to tie it closed. You can see my fishing pole I wanted to bring with me encase I had a chance to catch some dinner. I bought the rod for 7 Dollars from a second hand store in christ church and the reel for 29$ from the wearhouse!!
We brought boiled eggs as a snack!!
With that curry powder on top it was quite delicious!!
You know you need that sugar rush as well!!
This was one of 7 bridges we had to cross to get to the hut!!
 One person only lol.
 The views were breathtaking!!
That glacier water is so BLUE!!!
Tell me this isn't worth the 18 KM hike to get here!!

 Yet another Bridge!!
It's good to have a snack when you hike. This is what I brought along!!
Dang look at that handsome man!!

 Selfie HAHA

 Them panoramas of course!!
Got to have them sandwiches too!!
We made it to the first hut. This lady was cuting some wood for a fire!! We decided to keep moving to make it to the next hut by sundown.
 That oven though!!

The first HUT. 3 hours in.
This tree had to be 300 years old.
I found  a tiny mushroom inside. It was so tasty and I even felt the slight hint of euphoria after eating it. Lol , if only there would have been 7 or 10 or 100 more. I could have really blasted off. haha

 More mushrooms !!
 That selfie of course...
Wow this bridge doesn't look sketchy at all.

 Would you cross it!!?
I wasn't afraid. Why would I be? I got god watching over me. haha

 Them steps !!
There were some tight gaps of course!
It's always nice to take a brake when you can.
 More Panos of course!!

 Thirsty anyone??
Don't stop here!! You might get more than you came for..

If these legs could talk. They would say. "Dang son, I am tired. Lol
More eggs for snacks. Got to have that curry and salt though.
 And water of course!!!!
This is my , " Im tired selfie". Lol
How many bridges we got to cross ???

This one was  pretty long. And it swayed quite a bit. I can't turn back now!!

Yea that wasn't scary at all. The wind was blowing and the bridge was moving. And my pack was 50 lbs to heavy . I felt like, wooo this will be the time it brakes. But god willing. I made it .haha
The greatest sign I ever saw in my life!!! 2 mins to  point to rest!!
That welcome flat HUT!!
I still had a few things left in the pack.
The greatest dinner never sold. Rice, lettuce, cashews, tomatoes, oh my.
They said it was to wet and to rainy to make a fire. I said, "I'm from TEXAS, we can start a fire anywhere. So me and the other mate found some wood and I used a whole pack of fire starters. But we got it going. After wards every one gathered around to swap stories and get warm!! It's amazing where ever I go, fire always brings people together. The two girls on the left from Holland, Jana from Germany, And the three on the right from Portugal . What do you know, they all speak english!! Lucky me. lol. All these girls make the weak ass guys back home look like little chumps. HAHA.
 That fire place!!
Lit by candle light of course.

The following morning I needed coffee, so the girls let me borrow their stove.
The mountains were so amazing in the morning time!!
She couldnt believe it when I pulled out a whole pinapple from my pack. We made a fruit salad fro breakfast. In order to get that energy to make the long walk back.
The Hut warden . Him and his wife live here several months out of the year and manage it. So people don't set the place on fire and such.
These are the hot pools we got to soak in when we arrived and ate dinner the previous night. I was interested to see what they looked like during the day since we olny saw them by flash light.

The girls from Holland were taking a dip before they walked down. We just came for the photos this morning.

There were three natural geothermic pools. All running into each other. One was nice and not to hot the second hotter than the first. And the third so hot you could only sit for a few minuets. But damn did they feel good the night prior when we walked 7 hours, 18 Km to get there. It was the exact thing my body needed to recoup before the long walk home the next day.
This was the starting spring it ran to the hottest one then to the second and third, it was way to hot to touch. It was cool to look at though.

The walk home was filled with water falls for days!!!
All the same bridges again... Ok if I must...
People say its not good to eat raw potatoes. I say that's hogwash, iv'e been eating raw potatoes since I was old enough to hold them in my hand. With a bit of salt they are quite Nutritious and delicious!!
And when you take the wrong route then have to find you way back to the correct one, you could fall... haha its good to have a good laugh when it happens. Laughter is the best medicine. lol
Flowers are gods way of showing us , mother earth is his mistress.

 The view!!
These are so much fun!!! haha. Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so. (Shakespeare)
Them girls from Holland that were soaking in the hot springs when we left, well they left a hour after us and passed us on the way down. I felt like I was moving like molasses. Couldn't believe their energy and drive.  I wonder what they eat!! Bet it's not Mcdonalds Lol.
Yea that was the river I fell in on the way up...
Boy were we happy to see it again!!
 More Panos of course!!
We made it!!! 36 KM and I didn't even get to use my fishing pole lol. Holy moly I feel so alive!!! Can't wait to do the next one!!
