Food, Food, Food , food, food, ....... Revised with 167 New Photos!!

If diet is wrong, medicine is of no use...

This is what the food looks like since I have been here. My meat intake has drastically changed. Why because I'm on a very tight budget and meat is simply too expensive. I would rather eat to live then live to eat. When I can spend just a few dollars a day on food. I could sustain myself here for a life time with very little money.

Although I have gone a few days with out I did find some good deals on lamb and definitely splurged a bit when I was able to. If you call 5$ for breakfast Lamb splurging lol...

This was the meal I had in the Airport in Auckland, it was 14$ for everything. Which is just too expensive to spend everyday. But I didn't have another option of leaving the airport and hitting a grocery store  and decided to go for it.
A rocket chicken sandwich with tomatoes and cheese and lettuce and onion.  In the bowel which was hard to see was Oats and beets . God I love beets maybe one day i could have a large beet farm and eat them until I got sick lol. Just like my favorite character in the Office Dwight haha. Beets beat battlestar galactica lmao.

This was dinner on the 12 hour flight from LAX to New Zealand. It was quite delicious.

And Breakfast at dawn crossing in to the future. New Zealand is 21 Hours ahead of DFW. Who said time travel isnt real!!

I figured sandwiches would be the most efficient use of my hard earned money. Two baguettes for 3 Dollars. A head of lettuce was 75 cents and cheese less then 10 cents a slice. The pastrami was 5 Dollars for two packages which made 4 sandwiches.  In all the sandwich added up to 2-3 dollars per sandwich and fed and sustained me for several days.

My fellow chap decided to treat us to some banana curry with rice. It was a massive meal that fed 7 people for less then 2 dollars.

Took a picture of my plate. There were 6 others that looked just like it.

This quiche was 3 Dollars at the local bakery.

This was the most expensive meal I cooked 10 dollars. I wanted to make my famous breakfast burrito recipe , potatoes, ham, beef and 12 eggs. It was so delicious and feed everyone in the hostel kitchen who was daring enough to try a Texas burrito recipe.

There are community co-op gardens everywhere here in New Zealand. This one is owned by over 200 People!!

I went 2 days traveling to Mount Cook and didn't have meat so This morning I treated myself to some lamb steak. It was delicious to say the least.

The Coleslaw was 70 cents for 100 grams. And a carton of eggs here is 2.50 for 6. Toast and oranges are cheap as dirt and milk was 4 dollars a liter. The steak was 4.29. That would position this meal to be less then 7 dollars. I can't imagine spending 15 bucks a meal 3 times a day. When I can cook like this for penny's on the dollar.

I swear I ate these sandwiches like nobody's business and when I ran out of meat I just ate bread and lettuce and peanut butter with marmalade. Sometimes just lettuce and a carrot with marmalade.

In the campsite shelter all these people were preparing their own food. With no refrigeration meat was few and far between.
For dinner some sweet girls from Slovenia allowed us to use their stove and make white rice, with carrot, and broccoli.
For the salad it was onion and cucumber with a balsamic vinaigrette. So amazing, it fed 3 people for two days and cost less than 2 dollars. Eating like this one could see how so many Europeans can travel so much. It is my sincerest opinion we just spend way to much on food in America. It doesn't sustain us. When you see how beautiful the people are here. And you realize they don't have the need to paint their faces on, because the food they eat makes their skin glow like the sun.
These girls from Slovenia shared with me why they don't eat meat. Not because they don's love it but because its just to expensive .  It's more of a treat for them. They were so kind to share their stove. So I had to share their picture to give thanks...

I opted to make a sandwich again. I think I may have a addiction to cheap food and sandwiches. lol
At the malls and all shopping centers they have separate containers for trash and recycling and its frowned upon if you don't use the correct container. I loooooooooove that they call trash Rubbish , makes me feel like I am in a harry potter movie. I don't know if I shall ever go back to calling it trash again.

Even the Chinese restaurants at the mall are self serve ... Why the in the world isn't this the norm in the USA!!? I think someone should make that happen. They would be filthy rich in weeks.

Day  4 in New Zealand. I haven't been robbed, still alive and well and feel more alive then I have ever been.

The 6 am view on my morning run was to die for. Check out that sunrise!!!
